Mazda fans in Reno are rather familiar with the Mazda3. In fact, Tom Dolan's Reno Mazda is sure that everyone is acquainted with most of the compact sedan's high-performance sibling, the MAZDASPEED3. But have you heard much about the Mazda3 MPS?

If you are scratching your head in confusion, that's quite alright. The Mazda3 MPS is only available overseas and is the counterpart to the popular sedan. Recently, Mazda released specs for the new European hot hatch variant and we're eager to share.

Industry experts note no significant changes on the performance-level, which is  great. It's nice to know driver over in Europe can enjoy the same  MAZDASPEED3 performance we do over here in the U.S. All the same stellar handling and refined drive has also stayed the same. So you might be asking, what has changed? . The answer is style.

Peter Allibon, Mazda Sales Director, explains, "Visual upgrades to the Mazda3 MPS complement its strikingly bold design, which boasts a dynamic, aggressive and assertive look that sets it apart from the rest of the Mazda3 line-up and encapsulate the 'defy convention' philosophy of our brand."1

To be more specific, the new Mazda3 hot hatch hypes a distinct bonnet air-intake, gunmetal 18-inch alloy wheels, and large rear wing with a refreshed inner spoiler. Additional modifications include bi-xenon headlights with a swivel adaptive front light system, front fog lamps, radar-based rear vehicle monitoring, and 320mm-diameter ventilated front disc brakes.

While the Mazda3 MPS might not be the exact auto that arrives on our lot at Tom Dolan's Reno Mazda , we count it important to know what's going on with all Mazda models across the globe. To that end, feel free to swing by anytime and learn more.
