If those of you in the greater Reno area are curious to see what Mazda has in store for the future, then here at Reno Mazda we have some exciting details for you. Mazda recently announced that it is partnering with Fiat to create a new Alfa Romeo Roadster inspired by the next generation Mazda MX-5 Miata.

A partnership between two automakers is actually quite a common occurrence and seems to bring about many advantages. Since automakers have a different knowledge about certain technologies, a simple swap of ideas provides partnerships that lead to the exciting developments of new models.

While Fiat is looking to spice up its Alfa Romeo model, Mazda has agreed to offer some inspiration as the sporty and sleek Mazda MX-5 Miata has been the go-to convertible in the new Mazda lineup since its release.

In order to put a more modern spin on the classic Alfa Romeo, Fiat will adopt some of the latest Mazda technology and design strategies that will be incorporated into the next generation Mazda MX-5 Miata. There will however be unique difference between the two brands. For example while Mazda implements its SKYACTIVE TECHNOLOGY to add fuel efficiency, Fiat will most likely include an entirely different engine system that keeps the model in sync with the brand.
