Once again we find that all of
us at Tom Dolan's Reno Mazda have exciting news to report
regarding another noteworthy new
Mazda model. Recently Earth, Wind & Power Media (EWP)
chose the Mazda
CX-5 as the "Most Earth-Friendly" Truck of the
Year for 2013.
What qualifies a vehicle to be awarded this title? EWP Awards recognize vehicles that are able to reduce harmful emissions that contribute to pollution, and increase environmental performance through the use of alternative fuel sources. This is the fifth year that EWP has used this criteria to identify vehicles that are promoting a cleaner environment.
The Mazda CX-5 demonstrates these qualities with its SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY that increases fuel economy while decreasing the vehicle's emissions. More specifically, its SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter engine is able to burn fuel more efficiently while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 15 percent. It also offers a best-in-class combined EPA fuel economy rating of 29 miles per gallon, quite impressive for a crossover SUV.
As the first vehicle to integrate this technology, the Mazda CX-5 has certainly proven that these new innovations are changing the future of fuel efficiency for the Mazda lineup. Set to become available for 2014 models, the automaker will also be releasing a more advanced SKYACTIV-G 2.5-liter engine that with an automatic transmission, only loses one mile per gallon for city driving.
These are just a sampling of the standout features that the Mazda CX-5 offers drivers in the greater Reno area.
