A few weeks ago at Road Atlanta, the Mazda racing team came away with quite the victory. This was followed by another exciting win in Motor City, and it is all thanks in part to the SKYACTIV-D Clean Diesel engine featured in the Mazda6 race car. Drivers Tristan Nunez and Joel Miller teamed up to achieve the GRAND-AM GX class win and here at Reno Mazda we have all of the details.

Reflecting on the victory and overall racing experience, Joel Miller, co-driver for the #00 Visit Florida Racing Mazda6, explains, "This was my first visit to Detroit and I'm really happy to score a win in a town with so much automotive history. Our Mazda Clean Diesel ran flawless and the SKYACTIV technology showed again today a strong contender. I look forward to Mid-Ohio in two weeks and the continued development of the SKYACTIV-D Clean Diesel package!"1

Adding another win to the Mazda racing team were SpeedSource drivers Sylvain Tremblay and Tom Long who drove the #70 Mazda6. It was a close race that brought about a three-way battle ultimately ending with a Porsche Cayman finishing second in between the two Mazda vehicles. Sounds like it would have certainly been an exciting race to watch in person, especially to get a look at the SKYACTIV-D Clean Diesel engines hard at work on the racetrack.

Although we don't offer vehicles as flashy and speedy as the ones you'll watch at the races, the new Mazda lineup features some models that are definitely worth checking out. We encourage all of you in the greater Reno, NV area to stop in to see for yourselves. Our friendly staff would be happy to answer any questions you may have, and schedule you for a test drive with the vehicle that catches your eye!
