Once again here at Tom Dolan's Reno Mazda, we are excited by the prospect of another one of our new Mazda models taking home an award. This time around, the 2014 Mazda6 is up for the 2013 World Car Design of the Year Award.

Although this model is up against some strong competition, we have no doubt that it has a winning chance especially when considering the unique design it's bringing to the table. Drawing from the original TAKERI Concept, the Mazda6 features the KODO "Soul of Motion" design, which pulls its inspiration from the pure, agile movements of wild animals. This translates into bold body lines and an overall appearance of being constantly in motion.

The winner of the award will be announced in March 28th during a press conference at the New York International Auto Show, after a jury of 66 automotive journalists from all over the world vote on a finalist. Be sure to check back in with our Tom Dolan's Reno Mazda blog so we can keep you updated on the results.

We certainly would love to see the Mazda6 recognized for all that it has to offer. In addition to its great design, it also features the innovative SKYACTIVE TECHNOLOGY, an efficient 2.5-liter gasoline engine and the option of a SKYACTIV-D 2.2-liter clean diesel engine becoming available later this year. With a great balance of style, performance and technology, this model really offers the complete package.
