You may be familiar with the popular and stylish Mazda MX-5 Miata as it has become the most popular sports car in the world. One fact you may not know about the car however, is that it holds the record for the "largest parade of Mazda cars." This record was set in 2010 by 459 models that were gathered in Essen, Germany, and while it may sound impressive, Mazda is looking to break its own record next month.
In order to do so, the automaker is busy organizing about 800 MX-5 Miata vehicles for a rendezvous set to take place on June 15, 2013 in Lelystad, Netherlands. It will certainly be quite a sight to see this many models gathered all in one location.
Mazda is asking interested MX-5 Miata owners to participate by registering at (www.imax-5.nl). The entry fee is 30 Euro (about $38), but it also includes lunch and drinks for two. Plus it will be entirely worth it to become a part of such an exciting event with such an iconic model.
Just how popular is the model? As of now, the one million sales mark is about to be reached with the recent boost in MX-5 Miata sales. It achieved its first sales record back in 2000 with a total of 531,890 units sold. Here at Reno Mazda we have no doubt that this will be an exciting year for the automaker in more ways than one, as it prepares for next year's release of the fourth generation model.
If you haven't gotten the chance to take the MX-5 Miata for a test drive, then now is the time to do so. After all, it's the perfect model to cruise around in to soak up some summer sun. Head on over to our Reno, NV showroom to check one out today! We would also be happy to show you any of our other new Mazda models and answer any questions you may have.
