It has been a strong year for Mazda Motorsports, as it finished out the 2013 Rolex Gran-Am season with a total of nine consecutive victories. In celebration of the season, the automaker recently attended the Grand-Am awards ceremony in NYC, adding several more awards to its growing list of recognitions. Let's take a look at a few of the highlights.

Mazda is most thankful for the SKYACTIV-D engine for helping it to earn the coveted Grand-Am Manufacturers Championship. The Mazda6 racing models that feature this engine, earned the automaker quite a bit of time in the spotlight for earning a variety of first time achievements. Mazda earned recognition for having the first diesel to compete and win in a Grand-Am race, and the first to ever come away victorious at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

These are quite the accomplishments to achieve and a true testament to the fact that hard work really does pays off. Mazda's SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY provides vehicles with the ideal amount of efficiency, while preserving its performance and power. It proves to be the perfect technology not only for drivers in Reno, NV, but out on the racetrack as well.

We can't forget to mention individual awards won by Mazda's talented drivers as well. Tom Long came away with the TOTAL Performance Lubricants Pole Award thanks to his seven pole positions throughout the season. Joel Miller was also in the spotlight for earning the title of Monticello Motorsport Club Grand-Am Rookie of the Year.
