The Mazda6 comes with a standard SKYACTIVE9®31 -G 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder with VVT up to 187 horsepower, while in comparison the Fusion musters a 2.5-liter Duratec® I-4 engine, both with front-wheel drive and six-speed transmission.
The Mazda6 edges out the Fusion with a higher city/highway fuel economy meaning the Mazda6 can save you more at the pump, while providing similar performance.
The Fusion and the Mazda6 also equip their own respective technologies. The Mazda6's entertainment comes with standard MAZDA CONNECT™ Infotainment system, while the Fusion offers the SYNC® system, both taking entertainment to the next level.
Both the Fusion and Mazda6 offer six-way manual driver seating, but only the Mazda6 offers a six-way manual front passenger seat adjustment compared to the four-way adjustment of the Ford Fusion. Additional comfort can be seen within the difference in interior. The Mazda6 features a lavish interior of Ultrasuede® lining, which the Fusion cannot match.
The Mazda6 comes in five available trims:
- Mazda6 Sport
- Mazda6 Touring
- Mazda6 Grand Touring
- Mazda6 Grand Touring Reserve
- Mazda6 Signature
Both these sedans are convenient and offer up-to-date technology. The Mazda6 is slightly more expensive than the Fusion, but receives better efficiency and has a higher-end interior that delivers a luxurious aura to this vehicle, ultimately making the slight price differential worth it.
